The Slambovian Circus of Dreams to perform at the Cooperage

| 12 Mar 2019 | 06:18

    — The Slambovian Circus of Dreams will perform at 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 17, at the Cooperage Project, 1030 Main St., Honesdale.
Formed in Sleepy Hollow, N.Y., over a decade ago, the band pioneered the alt-folk circuit, staying on the fringes of the music industry. Winning support from indie radio and press since their inception, fans fueled their career from the ground up to an international status. They've headlined major music festivals and venues across the U.S., Canada and UK, and have a devoted cult following across the globe.
The band is led by songwriter Joziah Longo on vocals/guitar/harmonica. He is joined by Sharkey McEwen on guitar and mandolin, Tink Lloyd, a multi-instrumentalist on accordion/cello/ukelele/melodica plus Felipe Torres on drums, percussion and Bob Torsello on bass.
Here's a sampling of the reviews they've received:
“Soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic, the entire root system of Rock Family Trees is embedded in Longo’s voice.” — The Big Issue, Scotland, UK.
"A riveting, mesmerizing, crazy, amazing machine of music.” — Chronogram Magazine.
“Their fans draw comparisons to the Beatles, Neil Young, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and Fleetwood Mac. Heavy company?...The Grand Slambovians are simply the finest indie original rock’n’roll band out there." — Poughkeepsie Journal
“Songs imbued with mystical stirrings and idealism...they took the stage by storm.” — The New York Times
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. The suggested donation is $20 with advance reservation, or $25 at the door. To reserve a seat, call Jill at 845-252-6783 or The Cooperage Project 570-253-2020
