The Dingman Township Parks and Recreation held its first scarecrow contest at the new Dingman Township Park featuring cash prizes on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Also part of the days festivities were free pumpkins for the first 300 children, free face painting, pumpkin bowling, golfing and designing petrified pumpkins with paints and markers.

Adults and children joined in a pumpkin pie eating contest and many shopped at vendor tables. There was live band entertainment with Olivia Zinn, Gary Zinn and Matt King playing a variety of music.
