Pennsylvanians will see $2.1 billion worth of highway and bridge improvements this year, $600 million more than originally anticipated because of the state’s new transportation plan. Representatives from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and the Pennsylvania State Police reminded motorists this weekj to drive carefully through the hundreds of work zones they’ll encounter this construction season. On April 14, a Middletown proceeded into a one-lane construction zone on Interstate 84 East in Milford without clearance from Route 6, causing the International Harvester driven by a Punxsutawney man to swerve, veer off the roadway, and overturn.
