MILFORD — Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced July 27 that Bryson Shane Hood, 42, of Princeton, Ky., was sentenced by Pike County President Judge Joseph Kameen to 37 months to 10 1/2 years in a state correctional facility and fined $1,500 for the crimes of distribution and possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

A further condition of Hood’s sentence is that Hood must register as a sex offender under Meagan’s Law.

Investigators from the Pike County District Attorney’s Office conducted an investigation after receiving information from the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office that child pornography was being stored and distributed from a computer in Lehman Township. Investigators obtained a search warrant for a residence at 1012 Deer Run East in Bushkill.

Investigators conducted a search of the residence for all electronic devices present in the house and discovered that Hood had been storing and distributing child pornography on his cellular telephone. Hood had been using a pee-t-peer file-sharing network to distribute the child pornography.

“People like this defendant who distribute and possess child pornography are exploiting children and perpetuating the sexual abuse of children and should be sentenced to state prison," said Tonkin.

He thanked the Monroe County Detective Bureau, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Office of the Attorney General for their assistance in the investigation.
