Local, family-owned practice, Aesthetic Family Dentistry, will host their 2nd Annual Halloween Candy Buy-back program on Friday, Nov. 3 in their office, located at 155 East Main Street in Port Jervis.

From 4 to 6 p.m., families can drop off their unwanted or excess candy at Aesthetic Family Dentistry. All those who donate will be entered into a raffle to win prizes, which will be announced at a later date.

“Last year’s buy-back program was extremely successful,” said Dr. Seth Horn, owner of Aesthetic Family Dentistry. “Through the generosity of our community, we were able to donate 70 pounds of candy to Operation Gratitude. By conducting this event, we are able to support members of the American military, as well as provide an opportunity for children to learn the gift of giving.”

Operation Gratitude is a not-for-profit organization that sends care packages to active service members and their families.

Since their inception in 2003, Operation Gratitude has sent more than 1,000,000 care packages, filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation. The packages are individually addressed to U.S. Service members who are deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers.
