The Farm Arts Collective is welcoming new members into its professional performing arts ensemble.

This community organization brings together farming, performance, food, and ecology in agricultural programs to activate creativity, health, agrarian, and cultural vibrancy to the Upper Delaware, Northeast Pennsylvania, and Catskills region.

The collective rehearses and trains in physical theater and collective creation every Thursday evening from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Narrowsburg Union, 7 Erie Avenue, in Narrowsburg, N.Y. People of all ages and experience are encouraged to attend. The company focuses on performance, writing music, singing, circus arts, and design. New attendees will be invited to participate and learn more about becoming a member.

The collective is developing performances for the 2020 season, including the agrarian odyssey “Dream On The Farm,” to be presented on Willow Wisp Organic Farm in Damascus, Pa., in August. The collective will also create and tour an outdoor street theater performance “A Brief History of Agriculture” with funding from the Pocono Arts Council and the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.

Interested adults and teens are encouraged to attend a Thursday evening session and become acquainted with the company, its ensemble practice, and the collective creative process, led under the direction of artistic director, Tannis Kowalchuk.
