Appalachian ballads and Irish rock coming to local stages

— Kindred Spirits Arts Programs is providing a number of performances in Pike County they say will bring sizzle to the summer.
An Appalachian Ballade: Simple Gifts Duo: From Appalachian ballads and hymns, to music of some cultures that influenced American music as Polish, French, African and Klezmer. All performed by widely known folk musicians on original instruments including fiddle, banjo, hammer dulcimer, bowed psaltery, lumberjack, and spoons.
Showtimes are as follows:
Saturday, Aug. 18, Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford at 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 19, Hawley Silk Mill in Hawley at 4 p.m.
Saints and Sinners, an Irish Rock Band, is one of the hardest-working groups of its kind has been hailed all over the world. Now it crowns Milford Music Festival with the fiery of sounds and engaging rhythms.
Showtime is Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Milford Theatre at 7:30 p.m. (in cooperation with Milford Presents).
TicketsTickets are $20 at the door, $15 when bought in advance to events at Milford Theatre or at Holy Crepes, 224 Broad Street in Milford and at Main Avenue Books, 202 Main Avenue in Hawley.
No discount tickets for venues other than Milford Theatre because of limited seating.
Children under 15 are admitted free.
