'Art in Sixes' small works exhibition to open Saturday
Narrowsburg, N.Y. Established artists and those just starting out have submitted original artwork, from mini-canvases to little sculptures to small books. Every piece is six inches or less in any direction. Prices range from $45 to $800.
The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance will host the 15th annual “Art in Sixes” small works exhibition from Nov. 16 to Dec. 22 at its gallery located at 37 Main St., Narrowsburg, N.Y.
The show opens with a reception from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16.
In what has become one of the largest group shows in the region, the 2019 exhibit features more than 650 small-scale artworks by hundreds of local and regional artists.
Established artists and those just starting out have submitted original artwork for the show (no reproductions are accepted), from mini-canvases to little sculptures to small books. Every piece is six inches or less in any direction. Prices range from $45 to $800.
Pennsylvania-based painter David Tinsely will be contributing an original small work for a silent auction, with proceeds to benefit the alliance. The piece will be on display at the welcome desk throughout the exhibit. Bidding begins on Saturday, Nov. 16.
“Over the past 15 years, this exhibition has matured and grown,” says gallery director Rocky Pinciotti. “It strikes a perfect balance between a show that is juried and yet inclusive. Nowhere else will you find such a large group of participating artists and such high quality creative artwork except at DVAA's ‘Art in Sixes.’”
The alliance will host a special patrons reception prior to the public opening.
“The event will give attendees the opportunity to connect with exhibition artists and the first look at purchasing works from DVAA's most anticipated exhibition of the year,” says DVAA executive director Ariel Shanberg.
The show will be on view through Dec. 22. For more information call 845-252-7576 or visit delawarevalleyartsalliance.org.
