Blake Friedman coming to Milford theater
Milford. Powerhouse vocalist Blake Friedman will perform at The Milford Theater on May 7 at 7 p.m. His concert is called “Songs of New York”.
The Foundation for Harmony Presents and Milford Hospitality Group are proud to announce the arrival of operatic tenor Blake Friedman to The Milford Theater on May 7 at 7:00 p.m. with his concert “Songs of New York”.
Told through the American operatic, bel canto and musical theater repertory, “Songs of New York” is the story of a young man and his dreams to move to the big city to become a star. Highlights include “Something’s Coming” (West Side Story) by Leonard Bernstein, “Che gelida manina” (La Boheme) by Giacomo Puccini, and “Being Alive” (Company) by Stephen Sondheim.
Ticket prices range from $40.00 general admission to $70 VIP tickets including a meet & greet with Mr. Friedman, complimentary wine, and light fare after the show.
Friedman has been cited by the New York Times for the “plummy fullness and dusky hue” of his voice and by the New York Classical Review for his voice’s “buttery top.” His many notable performances include his feature on the New York City Ballet 2021 Spring Gala Film directed by Academy Award Winning Director Sofia Coppola, and his Carnegie Hall – Stern Auditorium debut singing Anatol in the quintet from Samuel Barber’s “Vanessa” conducted by Leonard Slatkin.
Henry Skier of the Foundation for Harmony Presents first heard Blake sing last year and has been determined to bring him back to NEPA for a pair of concerts: May 7 at The Milford Theater and July 29 at Harmony In The Woods. “Blake’s amazing tenor voice will make you shiver!” said Mr. Skier. This will be the last spring concert before Harmony In The Woods opens its outdoor amphitheater for its second full season of concerts on July 1. The Foundation has been committed to partnering with area arts organizations, and it was quite fortunate to secure the Milford Theater for the spring concert.
