Two Rivers Grille in Matamoras Part ‘deux’ for regional chef turned restaurateur MATAMORAS — It’s been two years since he has headed the line in the kitchen and prepared elaborate dinners for all those that enter, at the same time feeding his own passion for cooking, but all that changes in April. Daniel Weber, former executive chef of 20 Front, alongside his wife, Christina, will open the doors to their new American cuisine restaurant, Two Rivers Grille, formerly Food-a-licious, on April 6, at 611 Pennsylvania Avenue in Matamoras. Two Rivers Grille is quite unlike any of the other restaurants in the area - starting off as a BYOB - the restaurant will marry an everyday menu with an elaborate twist, featuring fresh ingredients from local farms. A few favorites Daniel Weber is bringing to the table include pan-seared jumbo lump crab cakes with red pepper remoulade and basil oil, shrimp and asparagus risotto with shaved pecorino romano scented with truffle, and flambéed flat iron steak au poivre with a brandy peppercorn sauce. And that’s just dinner. Tuesday through Saturday, Two Rivers Grille will offer an extensive lunch menu consisting of five or six soups every day, a variety of deli sandwiches, panini’s, wraps and other lunch specialties. The restaurant will also be offering take-out and local delivery. It will also be serving brunch. On Sundays, the restaurant will serve brunch only, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and feature fresh fruits, quiche, waffles and all the rest of your favorites. “It’s always been a dream of mine - to have my own restaurant,” beamed Weber. “Cooking is my life and I had been thinking of opening my own restaurant and I had such great feedback from some of our ‘regulars’ at 20 Front that when the opportunity presented itself, we couldn’t pass it up. This is where my wife and I live - this is our community.” For more information or to make reservations, call Weber at 570-491-2020.
