Delaware Valley students to showcase work at arts & craft show

Milford. This annual exhibition showcases work from local high school students in the Delaware Water Gap region, grades nine to 12, working in 2D and 3D craft media.

Peters Valley School of Craft recently announced the return of its annual High School Student Exhibition for its 14th year. The exhibition will be in the Sally D. Francisco Gallery (19 Kuhn Road, Layton, NJ) from January 20 through February 25, with an opening reception to be held in person from 3 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, January 20. This annual exhibition showcases work from local high school students in the Delaware Water Gap region in grades nine through 12, working in 2D and 3D craft media.

The 14th Annual Student Exhibition will feature works from Blair Academy, Bloomfield High School, Delaware Valley High School, Fort Lee High School, High Point Regional High School, Kittatinny Regional High School, Randolph High School, Roxbury High School, Sparta High School, Wallkill Valley Regional High School, and Watchung Hills Regional High School.

Work ranges from ceramics, painting, photography, collage, textiles, jewelry, to mixed media sculptures.

“As an educational center, it is Peters Valley’s mission to cultivate the next generation of fine craft artists and supporters,” the organizers said in their announcement of the event. “By hosting this exhibition we are encouraging young artists to not only make, but share their work with the world in a professional gallery setting.”

Peters Valley will award one full-tuition Huber-Weyer Scholarship to the “Best in Show” for a Peters Valley Workshop of their choice and certificates for second and third place. The event will also feature representatives from SNAG, International Sculpture Center, and Craft into Art. Awards will be announced at the opening reception on January 20, 2024.
