DFDT Historical Society to present ‘Amazing Animal Adaptations’
Dingmans Ferry. This free program will take place Sept. 22.
The Dingmans Ferry-Delaware Township Historical Society will be serving up another insightful afternoon of educational programming with a new presentation from the Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center. On Sunday, September 22 at 2 p.m., representatives from the Educational Center will detail the worlds of some of the state’s wildlife, their habitats, and adaptations to the environments in which they live. They will also discuss ways to live peacefully among the wildlife around us. This will be an opportunity to see up close some of our wild neighbors, including owls, hawks, a skunk, a few other mammals, and turtles.
This free program is suitable for children and adults. The program will start promptly at 2 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Hall (116 Wilson Hill Road, Dingmans Ferry); doors will open at 1:30 p.m. Guests are asked to arrive early or on time so as not to disturb the animals during the presentation.
The Historical Society’s free museum at Akenac Park will also be open to the public this Saturday, September 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The next date the museum will be open will be Sept. 29.
