The Wayne County Arts Alliance invites the public to the opening reception and celebration of the 2023 Edition of The Great Wall of Honesdale at 4th and Main Streets on June 10. Gathering will begin 2 p.m. with a reception and photo opportunity for the 12 artists.
The event is free and open to the public.
This year marks the eighth edition of The Great Wall of Honesdale. The theme is “Home is...” with original art includes fiber art/improvisational quilt, digital illustration, photography, colored pencil drawings, and acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings digitally reproduced on 11 x 17 foot panels of billboard vinyl. The panels will be on display for a full year.
The artists are: Amy Smith of Newfoundland, Jim Ferraro, Connor Simon, Colleen Campbell, Michael R. Smith, Corey Rutledge, Gail Mardfin, Amanda Rowe, Amy Smith of Honesdale, Victor Polanco, Diane Motroni, and student artist Siena Davis, who is 10.
The Great Wall of Honesdale is a project of the Wayne County Arts Alliance and supported by local businesses. According to the alliance, it is estimated that 100,000 vehicles per week pass and view The Wall.
