Farm Arts Collective will hold an International Women’s Day celebration on Saturday, March 8 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Agri-Cultural Center on Willow Wisp Organic Farm. The event invites all women in the community to an afternoon of performance, presentations, food, and interactive activity. The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day around the planet is “accelerate action.”

To open the event, Tannis Kowalchuk, artistic director of Farm Arts Collective, will share an excerpt from her solo play “Decompositions.” Following the performance, local women will share some of their work. Guests will include Nina Burleigh of the American Freakshow SubStack, Adrienne Jensen of the Rural & Migrant Ministry, Susan Mendoza of The Chi Hive and Flirty Riot, Amy and Iris Gillingham of the mother-daughter duo Wild Roots and Gael Roots Farm, Barbara Arrindell of Damascus Citizens for Sustainability and Clarissa Wimmers of the Wayne County Food Pantry, facilitated by Amy Milin of Swift Waters Creative Retreat.

Following farm-fresh food and presentations, all women present will be invited to engage in an interactive activity that invites the sharing of their own vision for action and transformation.

Entrance is pay-what-you-can. All women receive a flower upon entrance.

Farm Arts Collective is located at 38 Hickory Lane, Damascus. For more information, visit farmartscollective.org.
