The UpFront Exhibition Space will continue its Groove Port music series on Friday, September 27 with the Hudson Valley Jazz Quartet, featuring Steve Rubin, J. Brunka, Rick Savage, and Joe Vincent Tranchina. These roving musicians have worked together and in different groups, including the improvisational ensemble Beyond Jazz.

According to the organizers, this performance will be “a celebration of jazz standards with an improvisational influence.” Steve Rubin is the founder and director of The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival. He is also a music educator and drum instructor.

“This year Steve is taking a break from doing the festival. It is fortunate for UpFront Exhibition Space, he has put together a quartet for this concert,” the organizers added.

The performance will take place at 7 p.m. at The UpFront Exhibition Center at 31 Jersey Ave., Port Jervis. Tickets are $20 at the door. The Exhibition Center’s art gallery will be open that day starting at 1 p.m. and will be open through to the start of the concert. So arrive early to view the lovely art.
