The UpFront Exhibition Center’s latest Groove Port concert series will feature a performance by Supercluster, with Neil Alexander on keyboards, Dean Sharp on drums, and Robert Kopec on base.

Alexander recently released his first solo piano CD “Darn That Dream: Solo Piano Vol. 1” to critical acclaim. He has worked with variety of artists such as Gunther Hampel, Tal Ross (P-Funk), Erik Lawrence, and The Adaptors Movement Theater. He held the keyboard chair in Gregg Bendian’s “Mahavishnu Project” and in the successful Pink Floyd Tribute “The Machine,” where he was a driving force in the group’s sound and subsequent success. Alexander also completed a two-year solo piano tour performing his transcription of Stravinsky’s “Rite of Spring” for its 100th anniversary.

Kopec has been instrumental in assembling the finest regional jazz improvisers, performing in venues across the Hudson Valley, and known as “Big Bang!”

Sharp has played and/or recorded with a diverse array of creative artists, including Moby, Brad Mehldau, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Elliott Sharp, and Michael Bisio. As a producer/composer and remixer, he runs ELBO PROJECT ROOM studio where he has pushed the envelope for projects with such artists as Indian flutist Steve Gorn, cellist Stephanie Winters, and klezmer/world artist Zoe B. Zak.
