‘Groove Port’ to feature the Matthew Albeck Trio

The next installment of Upfront Exhibition Space’s “Groove Port” series is the Matthew Albeck Trio, featuring Matthew Albeck on guitar, Nate Zaur on the organ, and Bob Meyer on drums.

Matthew Albeck Trio is an organ trio that plays straight-ahead jazz, blues, funk, and Latin music. The trio says their music “celebrates the masters of the jazz tradition and also includes fresh original compositions inspired by classic jazz, New Orleans funk, and African music.”

Mathew Albeck began studying guitar at age 11 and was in his first band at 13. He studied and performed music throughout high school and college, where he studied pedagogy and began teaching music. After college, his band the Daily Supplement toured the tri-state area on the jamband circuit.

The performance will take place at the UpFront Exhibition Space at 31 Jersey Ave., Port Jervis, on Friday, October 25 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. The space will also feature UpFront’s latest art exhibition, which will be available for viewing from 1 p.m. that day until the start of the show.
