Hike with a forest specialist

On Saturday, October 5, Lacawac Sanctuary will be holding a free hike guided by an experienced Forest Specialist from Wayne County Conservation District. The will wind through the forests of Lacawac Sanctuary, with an estimated to from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Hikers will be able to delve into the identification of diverse tree species at Lacawac and northern Pennsylvania, and the environmental education guiding the tour will answer your questions about the local ecosystem, invasive species, and more.

Hike will start at the Environmental Education Center located at 94 Sanctuary Road, Lake Ariel. Then the journey will proceed to Osprey Trail, Moss Trail, Ledges, White Oak, Osprey, and back to the Environmental Education Center. The hike is 0.92 miles and has features such as rocks, tree roots, and uneven terrain.
