Historical Society to host dinner and a “creature feature”
Milford. This program kicks off on Wednesday, January 17, with “Invasion of the Saucer Men.”
The Pike County Historical Society and Museum has announced the next installment in its presentation of 1950s horror and “creature feature” movies. On Wednesday, January 17, at 5 p.m. movie enthusiasts can enjoy a showing of the 1957 gem “Invasion of the Saucer Men!” They threatened the world until some “hep” youngsters took over!
When a flying saucer lands in the woods, a teenage couple accidentally run down one of the saucer’s large-headed occupants. A drunken con man stumbles across the alien’s corpse after the teenagers head to town to report the accident; he decides to store the dead alien in his freezer — imagining riches and fame for his out of this world discovery. It only gets more complicated when other aliens arrive to retrieve their dead friend. Of course there is also the problem of the severed arm of the alien creeping around in the woods with a mind of its own; and it wouldn’t be any fun at all if the aliens didn’t have retractable needle-like fingernails that inject alcohol into their victims! You won’t want to miss this one!
This presentation will take place at the Columns Museum Foundation Room (608 Broad St, Milford). Seating is limited and we fill up fast, so reservations are a must. The price is $35 per person and includes dinner, dessert, libation and the movie. Call 570-296-8126 to reserve your spot today!
