Hoop Shoot event to raise money for scholarships and youth exchange programs

Milford Matamoras Rotary Club Youth Basketball is hosting a “Hoop Shoot” event Saturday, February 26.

Kids of all ages and skill sets are invited to take part in the “hoop shoot,” where each child is given a set amount of time make as many baskets as possible. They’re allowed to shoot from wherever they’re most comfortable, and baskets are lowered or adjusted as needed. Parents or loved ones, meanwhile, sponsor their child, pledging to contribute a set amount of money — such as a dollar, or whatever amount they are most comfortable with — for each basket their child makes.

Plenty of prizes are up for grabs: from t-shirts and trophies, to a grand prize of unlimited day passes to Costa’s Family Fun Park.

Money raised during the event will benefit the Milford Matamoras Rotary Club’s various scholarship and youth exchange programs.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 26 at the following school gymnasiums: Dingman-Delaware Elementary School, Delaware Valley Elementary School, Shohola Elementary School.
