Lackawaxen Township. Peace, love and music along the Towpath
The Pike County Historical Society will present the Third Annual Tunes Along the Towpath music event on Saturday June 24. The outdoor event will be held in the fields behind Canal House 16, located at 495 Towpath Road in Lackawaxen Township. Gates open at 2 p.m. and the music begins at 3 p.m.
Cover bands Gratefully Yours and Feast of Friends will perform the music of The Doors and The Grateful Dead for an afternoon of peace, love and music in the tradition of Woodstock and other epic outdoor concerts. Although awards for “best hippie attire,” a do-it-yourself tie-dye table and other contests will add to the fun, the day is mostly about the music.
Bring a lawn chair and a cooler as the event is B.Y.O.B.
Hot dogs, burgers and soft drinks will be available for purchase. All proceeds benefit the Pike County Historical Society’s “More than Milford” campaign – an ongoing project which will allow for the society to continue in its efforts to bring the history of the Delaware and Hudson Canal in Pike County into clear focus and continue to engage our rural communities in the telling of their important histories through pop up exhibits and historical programming.
Tickets for the show are $25 and can be purchased at The Pike County Historical Society or online via https://www.pikehistorical.org/.../tunes-along-the-towpath-3. Limited tickets will be available at the gate the day of the show, and all transactions at the site - including food, drink and tie dying - are cash only.
