| 02 Apr 2023 | 03:21

Grey Towers Heritage Association and The Columns will co-host a special presentation of “Thinking Inside the Box” - a live performance featuring Patricia Durante for an “in person” dialogue which details the time spent in the Presidential Box at Ford’s Theater on the evening of April 14, 1865, the night Lincoln was shot.

The play features the eye witness accounts of Laura Keene, Mary Todd Lincoln and Clara Harris, the three women “inside the box” on that fateful night. Hear their stories, tragic and true, brought to life in this unique performance.

The play will take place on Sunday, April 16 at 4 p.m. in the Foundation Room of The Columns Museum at 606 Broad St. in Milford. The performance will be followed by a reception and viewing of the famed Lincoln Flag on the main floor of the museum.

Patricia Durante has been a professional actress, director and singer for over 25 years. She is a graduate of The American Music and Drama Academy in New York and has performed in countless musicals and plays as well as radio and television commercials. She is the recipient of two N.J. Tony Awards for Best Leading Actress in a Musical and Outstanding Performance in a Leading Role from the Wisconsin Arts Council.

The production is a unique partnership between Grey Towers Heritage Association and the Pike County Historical Society, which is a natural connection given the vibrant Pinchot legacy in Milford and the Pike County Historical Society’s vast collection. Gifford Pinchot served as their first honorary president.

General public admission is $25 ($20 for Grey Towers Heritage Association and Pike County Historical Society members). Tickets are available at https://greytowers.org/event/thinking-inside-the-box/.
