Plein Air Narrowsburg is a rare opportunity to feed your creativity with breathtaking landscapes and historical structures - unlike anywhere else in the world.

And it’s a chance to make lasting memories with artists and art lovers.

The Barryville Area Arts Association and the Western Sullivan Public Library ask you to come to Narrowsburg and immerse yourself in the age-old tradition of painting en plein air. Peek over the shoulders of renowned local artists and you might just gain insights from the wealth of talent.

Narrowsburg’s Main Street is well-known for its river views and charming mix of historic buildings and contemporary establishments. Set up your easel there, find your own special place, or consult our map of “Seven Secret Scenic Spots” provided to all artists at our registration table. It includes some of the lesser known but most beautiful vistas in Narrowsburg.

This event is open to artists and art lovers of all ages and skill levels. Art supplies will be on hand for beginners. The finished art will be on exhibit at a free reception at the Narrowsburg Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library on Saturday, Sept. 2. Also on display at the library, from the day of the community painting party through the reception Sept. 2, will be a special exhibit on “The History of Plein Air Painting.”

You can share your passion for painting outdoors with kindred spirits at Plein Air Narrowsburg on Saturday, Aug. 26, from 10 a.m. This is a free event, but pre-registration is required. Just email barryvilleareaarts@gmail.com to register.
