Outdoor dance series, “The Stage in our Woods,” begins June 4
Johanna LjungQvist-Brinson and her husband Max Brinson built an outdoor stage on their Dingmans Ferry property, where her company performs.
The show goes on by popular demand, says Artistic Director/ Choreographer Johanna LjungQvist-Brinson. She started the HQDC- Outdoor Performance Series during the beginning of the Covid 19 Pandemic, feeling the need to create a safe environment for people to be able to enjoy cultural events, in this case dance performances, she said. She raised money for materials, and her husband Max Brinson built a platform stage on their 13-acre wooded property in Dingmans Ferry.
The stage is situated in a glen with a natural bluff. A rocky forested hill is backdrop. The audience brings their own lawn chairs and sit in front of the 24 by 20 feet stage. The next performance is Saturday, June 4, 6 p.m., followed by another with different choreography on Saturday, September 10, 6 p.m. Tickets: $ 35.00. A complimentary wine and cheese reception will be emceed by Steven Bloomer -Teague before the performance .Hanna Q Dance Company will be performing new work choreographed by LjungQvist-Brinson called, “We are all going to be fine”.
