PEEC’s annual Harvest Festival to feature hikes, games, music, crafts & more
Dingmans Ferry. Celebrate the beauty of autumn on Oct. 14.
The Pocono Environmental Education Center (PEEC) will be holding its annual Harvest Festival on October 14, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy vendors, exhibits, live music, food, crafts, and more. Festival entry is $5 per car.
This year, for kids of all ages, Harvest Festival will include a pumpkin patch, trick or treating, face painting, a scarecrow building contest, an animal presenter, live music, and a hay wagon. Weather permitting, canoeing will also be available on PEEC’s pond throughout the day.
Harvest Festival is hosted in partnership with the Alliance for Watershed Education (AWE) on the Delaware River as part of the AWE River Days events. For River Days, PEEC will sponsor a plant life-cycle booth to showcase all stages of plant life.
“For many years, PEEC has been proud to support local businesses, and this year is no exception,” PEEC said in its announcement. According to PEEC, this event will feature a variety of local vendors, selling goods ranging from soaps and signs to locally made honey and coffee. Vendors will be spread out across PEEC’s upper and lower campus, with a hayride shuttle between campus areas.
PEEC will also be hosting crafts and games for visitors of all ages. The always-popular tie-dye station will be back, along with upcycled and traditional crafts.
The Pocono Environmental Education Center, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, is located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, between Milford and Bushkill at 538 Emery Road, Dingmans Ferry. For more information, visit peec.org.
