Pocono Arts Council announces winners in student exhibition
Stroudsburg. The show features works by 53 students in mediums including acrylic, ceramics, clay, collage, digital, fused glass, mixed media, pastel, photography, watercolor, oil, pen & ink, and pencil.
The Pocono Arts Council announced the winning entries in the 26th annual Juried Student Exhibition now on exhibit in Suite 402 of 701 Main St., Stroudsburg.
The show features works by 53 students representing Clear Run Intermediate School, East Stroudsburg Senior High School North, East Stroudsburg Senior High School South, J.T. Lambert Intermediate School, Notre Dame High School, Pleasant Valley High School, Pocono Mountain East High School, Pocono Mountain West High School, and Swiftwater Elementary Center, as well as three home school students.
The exhibit includes works in 2-D, 3-D (sculpture/non-functional), fine crafts (functional), and photography. The mediums represented include acrylic, ceramics, clay, collage, digital, fused glass, mixed media, pastel, photography, watercolor, oil, pen & ink, and pencil.
Jurors for the show were Stephen J. Washington, artist and educator, with a background in fine art, photography, and clay; and Marcia Flammonde, portrait artist.
Award sponsors were William & Patricia Hibschman; The Pocono Chapter, PA Guild of Craftsmen; PA Bar Association Foundation; and Paul Laukaitis – In Memory of Norbert Scanlan. The event was made possible by support from the Monroe County Commissioners.
The Pocono Arts Council is a local arts service organization serving Monroe, Pike, Wayne, Lackawanna, and Luzerne counties. Its mission is to build our community artistically and culturally by providing leadership, service, and education.
