Port Jervis St. Patrick’s Day Parade happening March 3
Port Jervis. Get your green and be ready to celebrate!
The Port Jervis NY Tourism Board recently revealed the details of its sixth annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Blarney Blast on Sunday, March 3, 2024, 3 to 5 p.m. in Port Jervis.
“We are proud to announce our grand marshal for 2024, lifetime resident Kevin Keane,” said the tourism board in its announcement. “Mr. Keane, now retired, worked for the Port Jervis Department of Public Works as chief water treatment plant operator for 20+ years. He is currently a member of the Port Jervis Elks & Knights of Columbus.”
In addition, the Hudson Valley Regional Police Pipes & Drums will be returning to the parade, as well as the Sheahan Gormley School of Irish Dance and the Broome Street Traveling All Star Band.
All are invited to participate. As the organizers say, “everyone is Irish for St. Patrick’s Day!”
The parade line up begins at 2 p.m. on Canal Street, with kickoff at 3 p.m. The parade will then travel onto Orange Street, crossing Main Street onto Pike Street/Uptown Business District, making the jughandle by Burger King onto Front Street/Downtown Business District, then travel downtown onto Jersey Avenue, ending at Fowler Street by the Erie Depot.
There will also be four performance areas: Upper Pike Street at Orange Square Park (by the cannon), on Lower Pike Street near the firemen’s monument/farmers market (by the large clock), at the intersection of Front and Sussex streets (near Village Pizza at Brother Bruno’s), and at Jersey Avenue, The Promenade (by the Erie Restaurant).
