The Presby Players’ annual holiday show is about to open and for 2024, audiences will enjoy a mix of genres that will surely bring on the spirit of the season! “Holiday Show 2024” at Marsh Hall beginning Friday, December 20 will be “an evening of songs, poems and stories for both Christmas and Hanukkah,” said Director Jeffrey Stocker. On the program is “The First Night of Hanukkah,” which parallels another classic to be performed: “Twas the Night before Christmas.”

Sandy Stalter will be directing the music. A new song for the company is “Light One Candle.” Said Stalter, “It’s a Hanukkah song that was originally written and performed by Peter, Paul and Mary. We’re doing their arrangement, with three soloists, two guitars, and the rest of the singing ensemble doing backups,” she added. “We also have another new group song: ‘Happy Christmas (War is Over)’ by John Lennon. The soloist is Christine Honders, with the rest of the singing ensemble on the backup parts.” And word has it that the audience may also be treated to a couple of fun surprises!

Holiday Show 2024 will be at 60 Sussex Street (Marsh Hall) in Port Jervis on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday, December 22 at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door ($10 for students.)
