Presby Players to present ‘The Land Where the Good Songs Go’
Port Jervis. There will be two opportunities to see this performance!
A mix of words voiced and words sung is on the menu for the next Presby Players production at Marsh Hall. “The Land Where the Good Songs Go” is the name of the show and the title of a song (music by Jerome Kern) for the 1917 musical revue, “Miss.”
For this production, Artistic Director Jeffrey Stocker has a co-director: Braeden Ross, a Port Jervis native and a Presby Player alumnus who is studying music therapy in college and is an accomplished singer himself.
“The scenes and songs string together to make a creative and poignant show.... Presby Players is an outstanding community group, which has helped develop dozens of young musicians and actors over the years. It has been a great place to find top notch art in the local area, and I take any opportunity I have to add to that legacy!” said Ross.
Stocker explained, “There will be dialogue from the libretto of each of the Broadway shows, which gives the audience an idea of what transpired before the performer broke out into song. It’s going to be a captivating and entertaining production.”
“The Land Where the Good Songs Go” will be at Marsh Hall, 60 Sussex Street, Port Jervis on Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3. Tickets are $15 at the door.
