“Telling stories and seeing Color” is the theme in the upcoming UpFront summer show. Kate Horan describes her art as “painted stories that are metaphors and puns of human and animal relationships.
Judith Cramer says she paints in pastel to evoke ocean currents, with blues and greens in alternating bands, highlighted by cresting waves.
Roz Hodgkins’ paintings in this show come from her series on Greek and Roman mythology. The classical legend about “Minerva” is a story of the Roman goddess of music, arts and crafts. Other characters in Hodgkins’ work are Psyche, Echo, Daphne and Prometheus.
Alva Zingaro says that her art is about seeing color as light and action, in some pieces suggesting shapes by using mostly highlights.
