The Lacawac Sanctuary Environmental Education Center will be holding a free nighttime hike on Friday, Oct. 18 starting at 6:30 p.m. It will be an evening adventure on the “Un-Haunting Full Moon Hike” as hikers explore the mysteries of the night. Hike down Big Lake Trail to the shores of Lake Wallenpaupack, where you’ll watch the full moon rise. Along the way, discover what goes bump in the night, learn about the creatures that make the “spooky” sounds in the forest, and test your night vision as the group navigates the trails.

To add to the fun, candy treats will be hidden along the trail for participants to collect. This is a unique opportunity to experience the forest in a whole new light — or rather, in the moonlight!

Space is limited, so early registration is required. To register, visit bit.ly/3U29oFi. Hikers will meet at the Visitors Center before the hike begins, at 182 Sanctuary Road, Lake Ariel.
