The UpFront Exhibition Space, at 31 Jersey Ave., Port Jervis, recently announced its newest installation, the Summer to Fall Art Show, featuring the works of Rachel Gordon, Joyce Lee and Dani Cooney. The show runs from August 2 through to September 22, with an artist reception slated for Saturday, August 17, from 1 to 6 p.m.

Below are descriptions of each of the artist’s works on display:

Rachel Gordon’s painting “Purple Haze” has the emotional mood that reflects her sensitive creative expression. She works in watercolor and adds ink to introduce more dimension. After a career in law in NYC, Gordon has found that being in a more natural environment has brought out her visual creative skills.

Joyce Lee’s painting “Water Lily Splendor” sensitively expresses the subtle complexities of nature. Her presentation of each image becomes a portrait of the plant. Lee has been studying watercolor painting for 10+ years and her skill at painting the amazing intricacies of nature has increased the beauty of her art.

Dani Cooney’s painting “Lincoln” is a watercolor of her beloved dog. Her love of animals and natural landscapes is prevalent in her vibrant detailed paintings. She is occasionally commissioned to paint animal portraits. Cooney was born in Switzerland; her family moved to NYC where she studied at Pratt Institute.
