Port Jervis. Enjoy the musical stylings of the Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet.
In honor of the Juneteenth, the Blue Hearts Jazz Quartet will perform works by African American composers from the Great American Songbook spanning the swing and bebop eras of modern jazz at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19, at the UpFront Exhibition Space (31 Jersey Ave, Port Jervis).
The quartet features Myles Lino on tenor sax, Darius Beckford on piano, Alfonso Ramos on upright bass, and Kim Peralta on drums.
The quartet’s personnel are alumni of SUNY Jazz Ensemble and SUNY New Paltz Jazz Studies Program. The fledgling collective of jazz musicians from the Hudson Valley perform throughout the region in combinations of varying sizes, from duos and trios through quartets, quintets and larger ensembles.
