— Here's a short list of the things you can do at this year's Wally Lake Fest: boating, fishing, swimming, parasailing, hiking, antiquing, dining, shopping, and sight-seeing.
The three-day festival, Aug. 26-28, celebrates Lake Wallenpaupack and the Lake Region with activities and events for people of all ages from boat parades to craft shows and ice cream socials to kayak demonstrations.
The Friday kickoff is at local restaurants and pubs offering live entertainment, including The Settlers Inn, The Boat House Restaurant, The Dock at Silver Birches, and The Ritz Theater.
Free shuttle buses will run throughout the weekend, making stops at the fest's many different activities (see sidebar for schedule).
Wally Lake Fest is hosted by the Downtown Hawley Partnership and presented by Lighthouse Harbor Marina. Additional details and daily updates are posted at wallylakefest.com, and on Facebook (facebook.com/wallylakefest).
