Mac Gregor, Arthur C. age 90, of Frankford Twp., NJ, passed away at his home peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday September 8, 2022, following a long illness. Born in Port Jervis, NY, Arthur grew up in Dingman Twp., PA and has lived in Frankford Twp., NJ since 1964.

Son of the late Stephen and Francis D. (nee Vermont) Mac Gregor, Arthur was a graduate of the Milford PA High School class of 1952. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. Mr. Mac Gregor had a long career with Sussex Rural Electric Cooperative first as a Lineman and later in the Engineering Department until his retirement in 1995. Using his many skills as an engineer, Arthur was very talented at anything mechanical or electrical. He was a member of the North Jersey Antique engine and machine club, and was always repairing, designing and working on machines of any type, especially his tractors. Always learning and evolving, Arthur was very adept at computer technologies, especially cataloging, archiving and detailed genealogy studies as well as old photograph digitalizing.

As the family patriarch, Arthur was instrumental in organizing many large and extended family reunions over the years. With a passion for music, he enjoyed an eclectic variety of Country, Bluegrass, Classical and Marching Band music. With a wry sense of humor, Arthur was a calm soft-spoken man who was always available to help his family and friends with any project.

Growing up in rural Pennsylvania, Arthur was a skilled horseman. A long-time member of the Beemerville Presbyterian Church, Mr. Mac Gregor was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend to many. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Irene (nee Bathgate) Mac Gregor in 2009 as well as his brothers Stephen D. and John Roland “Jack” Mac Gregor.

Survivors include his daughter Lori and her husband Luke Liddy, of New Jersey, and his son William and his wife Mary, of Colorado. Also surviving are his many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held Saturday September 17, 2022 from 1-5 p.m., with a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the Branchville Fire Department Railroad Ave. Branchville, NJ 07826. A private graveside service is being held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Arthur’s memory may be made to any favorite US Veterans Charity of choice.
