Diana Rubinstein Wiener of New York City passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Nyack, NY, on July 14, 2024. She was 83.
Born on November 14, 1940, in Brooklyn, NY, to Ben and Thelma Rubinstein (née Freed), Diana was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard Rubinstein of Montague, NJ, who passed away in 2001.
Diana is now reunited with her beloved husband, Sy Wiener, who died in 2021. Their 63-year love affair and 62-year marriage were often regarded as the “gold standard” of loving relationships.
Diana is survived by her daughter Cheryl Marjorie Ross and her husband Robert Ross of Nyack, NY; her son Adam Randolph Wiener and his wife Anna Crean Wiener of New York, NY; her daughter Jo-Ellen Smith of Milford, Pa.; and her daughter-in-law Mary Dryden Wiener of Monmouth Beach, NJ, widow of her late son, Eric Brian Wiener, who passed away in 2023.
She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Benjamin Wolf, his wife Devin, and their son Everett of Jersey City, NJ; Nathaniel Wolf of New York, NY; Theodore Wolf of Jersey City, NJ; Dana Wiener of New York, NY; Caden Wiener of Monmouth Beach, NJ; Griffin Smith of Philadelphia, Pa.; Gail Wiener of Monmouth Beach, NJ; and Peter Smith IV of Milford, Pa.; and step-grandchildren Daniel and Jonathan Ross.
She is also remembered by Rob Wolf and Peter Smith III, former sons-in-law.
