Diane Joan Banach, a longtime resident of the area, passed away at home with her family by her side on Feb. 18, 2023. She was 87.
The daughter of Clinton Allen and Agnes Hasbrouck Allen, she was born on March 17, 1935, in Newark, N.J. She would later live with her husband Joseph B. Banach, and family in Port Jervis, N.Y., and Mill Rift, Pa.
She would marry her husband on May 12, 1956. Diane was a stay at home mother as well as co-owner and secretary of Banach Construction Company.
In addition, she served for years on the Upper Delaware River Council, representing Westfall Township as well as Zoning Code Enforcer for Westfall.
Diane was involved with several organizations such as Hasbrouck Family Association, Catholic Daughters, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, and the Pike County Fire Police.
While enjoying her retirement she was leading the Red Hats Society in Polk City, Fla.
Diane enjoyed spending time with family and friends, along with her animals, gardening, knitting/crocheting, and traveling the country with her husband.
Beloved wife of Joseph B. Banach at home. Devoted mother of Jacqueline Cook, her husband Rollin, Nancy Duff, Darlene Norman, Joseph C. Banach, Raymond Banach, and the late Mary Bertha Banach. Dear grandmother of eight and great grandmother of 18.
Diane’s beautiful smile will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held Feb. 23 at the Knight-Auchmoody Funeral Home, 154 East Main St., Port Jervis, N.Y.
Interment is private and reserved for the family.
