Donald (Don) G. Quick of Milford, Pa., passed away suddenly in Milford on Friday, July 12, 2024.
Don was born in New York, NY, on June 5, 1950, to the late William and Ethel (Antles) Quick. He attended the University of Maine and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in philosophy with a minor in business administration. He worked for the Boy Scouts of America in New Bedford, Maine, before moving to New York City to serve as facilities manager for First Presbyterian Church in 1974.
In 1978, Don founded Architectural Iron Company (AIC), which became one of three premier ornamental iron restoration companies in the United States and Canada with over 60 projects in New York’s Central Park alone. Don operated AIC until 2016.
He was also actively involved in the Milford Borough and Township community as a police officer, member of the Board of Supervisors, Zoning Board of Appeals, fire and ambulance departments and Architectural Review Board. In 2017, Don served as interim chief of police for the Milford Police Department.
In addition to his public service, Don worked behind the scenes to mentor, advise and provide assistance to numerous individuals and families in Milford. He lived a life of service to the community and his family.
Don is survived by his daughters Stephanie Quick and Cassidy Quick and his son Timothy Quick, as well as daughter-in-law Joanna Quick and granddaughter Thea Quick. He is also survived by Bill and Stephanie Quick of Charleston, SC, and Kathy Quick of Yankton, SD.
In accordance with Don’s wishes, a private burial will take place in Milford Cemetery, Dingman Township, Pa.
Donations in honor of Don’s memory may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa.
