Dorothy Joyce Bronson of Bronston, KY and formerly of Milford, PA (Joyce to all who knew her) went home to the Lord Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Somerset, KY.
Joyce was a floral designer for several flower shops around Rockaway, NJ and an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Rockaway before retiring to their lake home at Walker Lake in Shohola, PA, and later to Milford, PA.
Upon moving to Pennsylvania, Joyce was active in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Milford for over 30 years, Joyce served as a deacon and an elder, and in the Women’s Association hostessing Soup & Sandwich Luncheons, fundraisers, and Bible studies in her home. She was an active member of the Milford Garden Club, winning awards at their annual Flower Show and loved being a part of the Milford “Red Hats” group. Joyce loved traveling, stamp collecting, making cinnamon buns for neighbors, family, friends, and strangers alike! And by way of her “epic” card and letter writing, stayed in touch with all who knew and loved her.
Joyce was an amazing woman, known for her red hair, dangly earrings, and bright smile. She had the glorious ability to always look at the positive side of things, even while facing hard times. Joyce had a deep and joyful faith in Jesus Christ, loved God, reading her Bible, sharing her faith, and spent the last years of her life eagerly looking forward to being in Heaven with the Lord.
The daughter of the late Frank and Dorothy (Shauger) Lynch, Joyce was born Jan. 2, 1926 in Morristown, NY. She was married to the late John E. Bronson, and was predeceased by her daughter, Janet Besida, and daughter-in-law, Judy Bronson.
Joyce leaves behind her son, William (Bill) Bronson; son-in-law, Dennis Besida; grandchildren, Dawn Iadarola and her husband, Chris, Denise Besida, Darren Besida, and Scott Bronson; great-grandchildren, Emily and Alex Iadarola, and Nevaeh Bronson; and sister, Alice Balko and her husband, Horst.
