George B. Romer
George B. Romer, 68, a retired plumber from Coleman Plumbing and Heating of Florida, N.Y., died on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 in Raleigh, N.C., after a long illness. The son of the late George Benson Romer and Audrey Irene Wilson, he was born July 8, 1943 in Warwick, N.Y. A family statement: "Our big brother will always be remembered for his love of country music. He sported his cowboy hat, big belt buckles and cowboy boots well, while line dancing with his wife, Linda. 3D jigsaw puzzles were his favorite pastime."
George is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Linda; his children: George B. Romer, III and Kim Timothy Romer, both of South Carolina, Christopher Romer and Royce Romer, both of North Carolina, Penny (Romer) Conklin and her husband, Russell of Tennessee; grandchildren: Michael, Justin, Jessica; one great grandchild, Jace; step-daughter, Patty and her husband, John Fitzsimmons; grandchildren, Sean and Sara of North Carolina, and stepson, David Miller and his wife, Allison of Pine Island, N.Y.; his six brothers: Doug Romer of Matamoras, Charles Romer of Glen Spey, N.Y., Edsell Romer of Matamoras, Russell Romer of Pelston, Mich., Donald Romer of Port Jervis, N.Y. and Jesse Romer of Mountaindale, N.Y.; his three sisters: Shirley Cooper of Maybrook, N.Y., Trudy Baez of Milford, and Keturah Romer of Monticello, N.Y. He also is survived by many grandchildren and pmany nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister, Irene Blair; brother, Allen Romer; sister, Hilda McGraw; grandson, Jeremy Conklin, and stepdaughter, Shelly DeGroat.
