James G.B. Falk of White Mills, Pa., died Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at Julia Ribaudo Extended Care Center in Lake Ariel, Pa. He was 89.
Son of the late Tage A. and Virginia (Bayne) Falk, Mr. Falk was born June 5, 1931, in Hackensack, N.J.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Spicer) Falk; daughters, Virginia Grillo of White Mills, Pa., Carrie Whitfield and her husband, Walter Schleser, of Hemlock Farms, Hawley, and Siri and her husband, Michael Travis, of White Mills, Pa.; grandchildren, James Whitfield, Joshua Whitfield, Corinne Grillo Buongiorno, Patrick Travis, Nicholas Travis, Matthew Travis; three great-grandchildren; brother, Pierre and his wife, Gladys Falk; and many nieces and nephews.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He graduated from Duke University and was an administrator for the Social Security Administration before retiring in 1996.
Jim was a talented artist who loved literature, music, and classic movies.
His greatest love was Betsy, his wife of 64 years. A family statement said: “We are so grateful for the husband, father and grandfather who taught us to live our lives with integrity, honor and truth. He will be forever loved and always missed.”
Private services were held at the convenience of the family. Cremation was at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel, Pa.
