James W. Moore, 88, of Milford, Pa., passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at the Delaware Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Matamoras, Pa.
James was a charmer, sharp dresser, ladies’ man, and loved to dance. He started his horse racing career early in his life and his love of horses never left him. He was always telling stories of his jockey days to anyone who would listen to him. He was known as “The Cowboy” to anyone who met him through the time he spent in Milford.
The son of the late Wilson and Effie (Chisholm) Moore, James was born February 20, 1936, in Washington, D.C. James was predeceased by his wife Mary whom he was married for 12 wonderful years.
James was predeceased by his sisters, Emma Louise Hackney and Patricia Ann Cartwright.
He is survived by his brother Robert Lee Moore and Alice Virginia Bobick, and many nieces and nephews, especially his niece Nicole Riccio and her family who cared for him in his final years.

Service: Monday, October 21, 2024, at 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial: Delaware Cemetery in Dingmans Ferry, PA.
