    Jane Howard (née Inez Jane Pettem) of Milford, Pa., died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, in Arlington, Va. She was 82.
    Daughter of Arthur and Inez Pettem, she was born on Nov. 4, 1934, in Elizabeth, N.J.
    She graduated from Cornell University in 1956 with a degree in Home Economics. She married Seymour "Sy" Howard, an attorney, in 1958 in New York City. Soon after their marriage, they moved to Syosset, N.Y., where they raised three children and Jane launched her own business as a photographer.
    They enjoyed volunteering at their children's school events, boating, bridge games, socializing with friends, and raising and showing silver Persian cats. When their children were grown, they moved to Milford, where they enjoyed entertaining friends and their family including their new grandchildren.
    She cared for her husband, Seymour, for several years until he passed away in 1998. She remarried in 2004 to Armin Fried, a retired CPA and holocaust survivor, until his death in 2012.
    She loved her family, friends, photography, painting, music, dancing, interior design, nature, cats, birds, and flowers.
    Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Howard-Grabman and Jennifer Howard; son, William Howard; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Howard; sons-in-law, Robert Grabman and Anthony Sforza; and grandchildren, Jesse and Sarah Grabman, Rebecca Howard, and Dorothy and Danny Pitti.
    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Seymour Howard; her second husband, Armin Fried; and her grandson Frankie Pitti.
    A memorial service was held Feb. 12 at Advent Funeral Services in Falls Church, Va. Rabbah Arlene Berger officiated the ceremony.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Insight Memory Care Center or the Audubon Society.
