Moses Samuel Sebring, 81, of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at the Gardens of Stroud in East Stroudsburg, Pa., following a lengthy illness. Moses attended Delaware Township Elementary School in Dingmans Ferry and then graduated from Delaware Valley Joint High School in Milford, Pa., in 1962.
Known to his family and friends as “Moe,” he worked for Darlington Fabrics in Newton, NJ, as a machine repairman. When the mill closed, he went to work for PennDOT as a truck driver and machine operator until his retirement. He was a life member of the Delaware Township Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed hunting with his brothers Bryce (Dick) and Charlie as well as his nephews. He always enjoyed a family picnic in July to celebrate his birthday, family camping trips, salmon fishing trips, working on cars with his friends, traveling, fishing, ice fishing and ice skating with family in his early years. He enjoyed rafting down the Delaware River with his nieces and nephews when they would visit from Maryland. For many years until he was no longer able to make the trip, he traveled to Maryland to spend Thanksgiving followed by a week of hunting with his brother Bryce (Dick) and his nephews Kenny and Danny Sebring.
Moe enjoyed going to breakfast with his nephew (in law) Gordon and lunch dates with his brother (in law) Blace Hotalen. Moe was never married or had children of his own, but he took great pride in spending time with his nephews, nieces, and even his great nephews and nieces as they came along.
Son of the late Samuel and Gladys Mae (Robbins) Sebring, Moe was born on July 27, 1943, in East Stroudsburg, Pa. Moe is survived by his brothers Charles Sebring (Charis) of Milford, Pa., and Bryce (Joan) Sebring of Valley Lee, Md.; as well as his nieces Kathy Oehlmann, Connie Williams, Sandy McCarthy, Donna Insley, and Susanne Malebranche; and nephews Ed Sebring and Kenny Sebring.
He was predeceased by his sister Betty Hotalen and her husband Blace, his nephew (in law) and breakfast buddy Gordon Oehlmann, and his nephew Danny Sebring.
