Peter Lucio

Peter Lucio, 85, of Port Jervis, N.Y. died Monday, Sept. 16, 2013 at Bon Secours Community Hospital, Port Jervis, N.Y.

He was born Nov. 17, 1927 in Tunisia, North Africa, the son of the late Nicolo and the late Vita Tesoro Lucio.

Peter married Lena DiComun 53 years ago on July 5, 1960 in Cannes, France.

He worked as a Tailor for Biondi’s Men’s Wear in Port Jervis and later as a self employed Tailor.

Peter was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Port Jervis, NY

A family statement read: Peter was a sweet, loving, kind and wonderful man who adored his wife, daughter, son-in-law, and his three beautiful grandchildren. He loved to be in the company of his family and his dear friends. He will be forever missed by all who loved him.

Surviving are: wife, Lena Lucio at home; daughter, Nicole Guggisberg and her husband Richard Carmel, N.Y.; sister, Teresa Valenti Cannes, France; three grandchildren, Peter, Alan and Stefanie Guggisberg; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Salvatore Lucio and sister Rosette Corrao.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19 with a 9:15 a.m. prayer at Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis, N/Y/ followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 46 Ball Street, Port Jervis with Rev. George Hafemann officiating. Cremation will follow at the MacLennan Hall Crematorium.
