Obituary of Thomas (Tom) Lloyd of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., passed away at home after a long illness on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020. He was 79.
Born in New York, N.Y., on Aug. 18, 1940, Tom lived most of his life in Hackensack, N.J., and then moved to River Edge, N.J., in 1986 and then to Dingmans Ferry in 2003.
He worked for the City of Hackensack as a police officer for 27 years. He retired from the force in 1996 and then worked as a 911 dispatcher and later as a crossing guard for River Edge.
While living in Dingmans Ferry, Tom was one of the founding members of the Delaware Township Republican Club, becoming the first president and then treasurer. He was also elected to the Pike County Republican Club Committee, where he served for four years.
Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Judy (Brown); sons, Tim Lloyd and his wife, Laurie, of Wayne, N.J., and Jamie Lloyd and his wife, Kristen, of Salt Lake City, Utah; daughter, Emily Johnson and her husband, Chris, of Jersey City, N.J. He was beloved PopPop to his four grandchildren, Thomas, Taylor, Payton, and Liliwen. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Bob) Lloyd, and his wife, Carol.
He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Rose Lloyd and his brother William (Bill).
Friends may call at the Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, on Friday, March 6, from 4 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 103 Delaware Crest, Dingmans Ferry, on Saturday, March 7, at 11 a.m.

Their son Ryan was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident in November 2019 and continues a long road to recovery and continues to incur medical expenses.
