Ascend Acton Academy celebrates five years
Milford. Open enrollment is now available for the 2024-2025 academic year.
As Ascend Acton Academy approaches its fifth anniversary, the school has announced that enrollment for the 2024-2025 academic year is now open. Ascend Acton Academy was founded in 2020 by Alyssa and Rob Verdi, offering an alternative to traditional educational models.
Ascend Acton Academy, an affiliate of the Acton Academy network, provides Socratic learning methods integrated with hands-on projects and real-world tasks,
”As we celebrate our fifth year, we reflect on the growth and achievements of our learners and community,” say founders Alyssa and Rob Verdi. “In contrast to traditional educational approaches, which often prioritize rote memorization and standardized testing, Ascend Acton Academy provides a dynamic learning environment that empowers students to take ownership of their education. Our model emphasizes personalized learning pathways, collaboration, and the cultivation of essential skills such as critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving.”
Throughout its nearly five years of operation, the Ascend has launched initiatives like the Acton Children’s Business Fair, which showcased the entrepreneurial spirit of learners from the wider Milford community.
Enrollment for the new academic year is open for learners from ages 4 to 13, ranging from young learners in their early educational stages to middle school learners gearing up for more significant academic challenges.
Ascend describes its education process as “self-paced” and gives young people “the opportunity to focus on their individual interests and capabilities which fosters an environment where learners feel both challenged and supported.”
