Certified physician assistant joins Honesdale Pediatric Center
Honesdale. Elizabeth Westendorf is now seeing patients 18 and under.
Elizabeth Westendorf, a certified physician assistant with 14 years of experience, is now seeing patients at the Honesdale Pediatric Center. The center, one of four pediatric sites managed by Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC), is located at 1837 Fair Avenue offering primary care for patients from newborn to age 18.
According to WMCHC, Westendorf spent the last 10 years in West Babylon, NY, on Long Island primarily in family medicine. The change to pediatric-focused care is a welcome one, “I have always loved working with children,” she stated. “This is a perfect opportunity for me to expand my career.”
Westendorf received her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree and Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences from Mercy College, Bronx, NY. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, Minn.
As an advanced practice pediatric provider, Westendorf offers well-child visits, immunizations, medical evaluation, as well as treatment of chronic and acute conditions. She will work alongside current Honesdale Pediatric Center providers Meredith Hellstern, Stephen Cahoon, and Taryn Donnelly.
Regarding WMCHC, she said, “I was drawn to their mission of serving the community, especially in the pediatric population,” adding “all staff members work together to provide the best quality of care to their patients.”
