Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers (WMCHC) welcomes Dong Hun Han, DMD, MS, as the newest dentist to join its dental team.
WMCHC offers comprehensive general dental services to children and adults at two locations – Together for Health Dental Center in Honesdale and the Pike Dental Center in Lords Valley.
“Dr. Han is currently seeing patients at both our sites,” WMCHC dental manager Nichole Yannone said in the press release announcing the hiring. “However, he’ll transition mainly to Pike in early 2024 to fill the provider need at that center.”
Han, a native of the Republic of Korea, began studying in the United States at the age of 15 by attending boarding school in Asheville, N.C. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University College of Engineering in Ithaca, N.Y., and later a Master of Science in biomedical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania School of Engineering and Applied Science in Philadelphia.
When he set his sights on attending dental school, Han remained in the “City of Brotherly Love” where he ultimately received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.
While a student, he served in leadership roles including president for Philly Phaces and the Korean Student Dental Association. Han completed his residency at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
WMCHC is a federally qualified health center clinically affiliated with Wayne Memorial Health System, Inc. Both centers accept most private insurance, managed care plans and medical assistance. A sliding fee based on income is also offered to those who qualify. Visit wmchc.net for more information.
