Matamoras ShopRite to join fundraising effort
Matamoras. Store will participate in ShopRite’s annual Make-A-Wish fundraiser for the first time. The drive, which started on April 16 and will end on April 30.
ShopRite recently announced the return of its annual fundraising campaign to benefit multiple Make-A-Wish chapters – including Make-A-Wish Greater Pennsylvania and West Virginia, Make-A-Wish® Hudson Valley and Make-A-Wish® New Jersey – which will kicked off on Saturday, April 16, and end on April 30.
For the first time, this year’s campaign will include a ShopRite store in Matamoras, Pa. – joining 27 ShopRite stores throughout the Hudson Valley, six stores in Northeast New York and four stores in New Jersey – that will collect donations at checkout to help fulfill the charity organization’s mission to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
To date, ShopRite Supermarkets, Inc., has raised more than $522,000 for local wish kids and their families.
“We are extremely grateful to be a part of ShopRite’s continued generosity and support of our organization this year,” said Maggie O’Brien, Regional Manager of the Make-A-Wish office in Scranton, Pa. “Already, ShopRite’s continuous fundraising efforts and generous donations in New York and New Jersey have provided more children and their families with life-changing experiences that can bring them joy in the face of truly challenging times. Currently, there are five wish kids living in Pike County who are waiting to experience hope, strength and joy from a wish-come-true, so we’re especially looking forward to joining this successful fundraising campaign with a new and incredible community partner to help grant these wishes.”
